Quality Control

Linden Botanicals has an extensive system for maintaining the highest possible standards for quality control of the teas and extracts we sell. Your health and well-being are our highest priorities, and everything we do is managed with these priorities in mind. First and foremost, we use third-party testing at every relevant phase of the supply process to ensure the purity and safety of our herbs.

Testing for botanicals is generally classified into the following four categories: Identification, Heavy Metals, Microbiologicals, Heavy Metals, and Pesticides.

Quality Control – Identification

Linden Botanicals uses industry-leading tests to ensure the proper identification of our botanicals. At the point of collection, we use visual identification and microscopic identification (involving checking plant cell structures against pharmacopoeia standards) as well as Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and High Performance Layer Chromatography (HPLC) to verify that the plants we are collecting are actually the correct species.

Only upon passing these tests do the plants proceed for further cleaning and drying. The material is tracked and receives confirmation testing after each stage of processing to ensure that product identification remains accurate.

Quality Control – Heavy Metals

Linden Botanicals tests our herbs and products for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury using independent laboratories. All our products are within the safety guidelines stipulated by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/National Sanitation Foundation International Dietary Supplement Standard 173 (ANSI 173).

Quality Control – Microbiologicals

Linden Botanicals requires microbiological testing and certificates of analysis from all our suppliers for every batch of herbs.

Quality Control – Pesticides

Linden Botanicals sources raw materials that have been grown without the use of synthetic pesticides. We use third-party testing and analysis to be certain that pesticide residue is not in our products.
