These survivors are called persisters.

Persisters are a subset of bacterial cells that enter a dormant or slow-growing state, allowing them to survive antibiotic treatment without being genetically resistant. Unlike antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which have mutations that allow them to grow in the presence of antibiotics, persisters essentially “hide out” during treatment and can re-emerge once antibiotic pressure is gone. This survival strategy is one reason some bacterial infections—including Lyme disease—can be difficult to fully eradicate.

In the context of chronic Lyme disease or Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS), persister cells of Borrelia burgdorferi (the Lyme-causing bacterium) are believed by some researchers to play a role in lingering symptoms. The theory is that even after standard antibiotics have cleared most of the infection, these persister forms may survive in tissues, evade the immune system, and potentially reactivate or continue to trigger inflammation and symptoms.

Kits come in 60g sizes (containing three 20g packets) and 150 gram sizes (containing three 50g packets). The 60g kit contains approximately 40 servings. The 150 gram kit contains approximately 100 servings.

Is there a serving suggestion?

Persister Desister chronic Lyme kits come in two sizes: 60g (40 days of support) and 150g (100 days of support). Each Persister Desister Kit contains individual packets of the three all-natural herbal supplements. That way, you can choose to take all three together or take them individually.

As one example, you might combine all three herbal supplements into the container of your choice. Each morning and each evening, you might mix 1/4 teaspoon of this blend into hot water and drink it as a tea before eating. (You can also add it to a fruit juice, vegetable juice, or smoothie, as desired.)

Or, you might choose to combine the Cistus incanus and Phyllanthus niruri extract in the container of your choice. Each morning, mix 1/4 teaspoon of this blend into hot water and drink it as a tea before eating. The extracts may also be added to a fruit juice or vegetable juice or mixed into a smoothie. At night, we suggest that you mix 1/8 teaspoon of Cryptolepis extract into 8 oz. of hot water and drink it as a digestive.
