Optimize your health: Phyllanthus niruri, the herbal I used for kidney stones, also helped me beat Lyme.
It’s Labor Day here in the United States, a day where the entire nation pays tribute to the backbone of our nation’s strength, freedom, and leadership — the American worker. (The history of Labor Day is pretty interesting.)
Today we need Labor Day more than ever. People work long and hard. Nine, ten, twelve hours a day. Often six days a week, sometimes seven. Some people have two jobs. Some have three. It’s not all backbreaking work (though some of it is), but it’s often tiring stuff nonetheless. Add in a commute and child-rearing and all the other complexities of life, and it turns out we’re all in need of a vacation. Now.
For those suffering from chronic illness, however, it can sometimes seem like that vacation never comes. A week at the beach without feeling the debilitating effects of illness seems like a dream to some. And rightly so. Battling illness feels like (and may actually be) a full-time job in its own right.
I get that. I suffered from Lyme disease for years. And the effects took a toll on my physical health, my mental acuity, my ability to hold a job, my social life, … the list goes on.
I also suffered from kidney stones, and Phyllanthus niruri, the herbal remedy I found to treat kidney stones, also helped me beat Lyme. READ THE LESSONS FROM THE DARKNESS E-BOOK.
Emerging from the fog of Lyme disease was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. I was so thankful, in fact, that I decided five years ago to do everything in my power to not only optimize my health but also optimize your health. When I say my goal is to optimize your health, I mean that I want to help everyone from those inspired to improve their mental clarity and physical wellbeing to those who have been suffering from chronic illnesses for years.
I think about these things on Labor Day because I want you to have the day off from illness. More than that, I want my labor (my company) to contribute to your ability to live every day without illness by doing some of the work for you. Pursuing health isn’t easy, but it is possible. I spent the last five years reviewing thousands of journal articles and identifying and testing plants from around the globe in order to find and offer the best plants in the world for optimizing your health.
Last summer, for example, I toured the jungles of Peru, where Phyllanthus niruri (Chanca Piedra, Stonebreaker) is sourced. (That’s me in the photo above on the Amazon River, east of Iquitos, Peru.) In January, I went to India in search of the very best Terminalia chebula (Haritaki), Ocimum sanctum (Holy Basil, Tulsi), and Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi).
Until I found Phyllanthus niruri, I worked for years to get rid of Lyme, pursuing every possible treatment until I was finally successful. And now I’m working hard to help people who truly want to improve the health of their body and the health of their mind.
Optimize your health. It’s a fantastic goal. For me, it’s a true labor of love.
